Advancing the future of healthcare with Sumitomo Chemical's super engineering plastics.

How about solving that issue from the material perspective? Domestic medical super engineering plastics will expand the possibilities of medical devices.

We would like to introduce Sumitomo Chemical's super engineering plastics. Starting with "Sumika Excel PES," which has low protein adhesion on its surface, we also offer "Sumika Excel PPSU," which has excellent chemical resistance and autoclave durability, and "Sumika Super LCP," which enables high-precision molding of thin-walled, small parts. Furthermore, Sumitomo Chemical goes beyond merely providing materials. We contribute to the future of healthcare as a partner in solving your challenges. 【Benefits of Implementation】 ■ Stable supply and reduced lead time through domestic manufacturing ■ Total cost reduction through improved durability and reliability ■ Enhanced performance of medical devices through high-precision design ■ Support for providing better healthcare for patients and medical professionals *For more details, please download the PDF. Feel free to consult us for case studies and considerations.

Super engineering plastic Sumika ExcelTM PES for lightweighting motors.

Contributes to the lightweighting of motors through metal substitution. Production can be achieved in a short time through injection molding. No abnormalities observed in bench tests under high load conditions.

"Sumika Excel TM PES" is a super engineering plastic that can be utilized for resin applications such as motor cases, contributing to weight reduction and improved productivity. Since it can be injection molded, it achieves both reduced processing time and design flexibility. It features high strength and high elastic modulus, with minimal physical property changes up to 200°C, and can achieve high dimensional accuracy through injection molding. It maintains high dimensional stability even under severe temperature conditions. In demonstration tests, it has achieved approximately 30-40% weight reduction compared to aluminum components, and it has been confirmed that the temperature rise during one hour of continuous operation is comparable to that of aluminum. [Recommended for the following concerns] - Looking for materials that can achieve weight reduction for improved fuel efficiency (electric efficiency) in automobiles. - Wanting to enhance productivity in component processing. [Features] - Specific gravity is just over half that of aluminum. - Contributes to weight reduction of parts and materials through the resinification of motor covers and cases. - No abnormalities in bench tests under high load conditions. - Temperature rise of the motor is comparable to that of aluminum motor cases (under water cooling conditions). - Capable of addressing not only material selection but also proposing optimal shapes through analytical technology. [Collaboration] TODA Racing Co., Ltd. *For detailed specifications, please download the catalog.

Super engineering plastic for ultra-thin meat shaping 'Sumika Super TM LCP'

Thin-walled molding similar to paper and film is possible. It has high insulation properties and supports high-precision molding! Contributes to the high performance, miniaturization, and productivity improvement of motors.

"Sumika Super TM LCP" is an LCP compound characterized by high insulation properties, thermal conductivity, and excellent fluidity that allows for thin-walled molding similar to paper and film. Sumitomo Chemical's Sumika Super TM LCP compound can be applied to motor slot liners, reducing processes such as punching and post-processing that are necessary with paper or film. Continuous shapes can also be molded integrally, eliminating wasted space due to overlaps. Its low moisture absorption means that changes in insulation properties over time are minimal. It can also be used as an alternative to aramid insulation paper and resin films. 【Features】 ■ High breakdown voltage, providing stable insulation over long periods ■ Contributes to improved motor performance through increased coil winding occupancy ■ No post-processing required, reducing the likelihood of issues during coil insertion and improving motor productivity ■ Can be recycled (regrinded), allowing for environmentally friendly use *For detailed specifications, please download the PDF. Feel free to contact us for more information.
